We are excited to announce that proposals are now being accepted for the next round of Floodplains by Design grant program funding. We appreciate your patience in waiting for the approval of a state capital budget for the current biennium. And we look forward to seeing the innovative projects you have in store for the next biennium. Please read the instructions below to submit your requests

Floodplains by Design Request for Proposals

The Washington Department of Ecology is now accepting new pre-applications for the 2019-21 Floodplains by Design grant program. Local project sponsors can complete the pre-application form and submit it as directed no later than February 16, 2018. All pre-applications will be reviewed by the Floodplains by Design team, and those best meeting the goals of the program will be invited to submit full applications in the spring of 2018.

What about my 2017-19 round application? With the delay to the approval of the capital budget the precise funding for Floodplains by Design has not been determined. For those projects submitted in the last round we are asking that you re-submit your pre-application. Several of the core program requirements have been modified, and we ask for additional information in the pre-application round. We hope to have an approved capital budget in early 2018, and once it’s out we will know which projects will receive funding this biennium. For those projects funded they will not be required to go to full applications.
