What is Floodplains by Design?

Floodplains by Design (FbD) is a public-private partnership working to reduce flood risk, restore habitat, improve water quality, support agriculture and enhance recreation along Washington’s rivers. In every project we put collaboration first, bringing former adversaries to the table to create meaningful change together.
