The Dungeness River has flooded four times since February 2015. The first flood damaged the old railroad trestle and closed the Olympic Discovery Trail. In the 10 months and 2 days since that first flood, the 585 feet of old trestle have been replaced by 720 feet of salmon-friendly, river-worthy pedestrian bridge, and the floodplains are flowing freely.
